Deep Creek Pottery produces finely hand-crafted functional and decorative ceramic art. Located near beautiful Deep Creek Lake in Garrett County, and owned and operated by Lorie Skidmore and her husband Ron, who have more than 20 years of experience in ceramic art, Deep Creek Pottery creates items in stoneware clay through techniques like wheel throwing, hand building and extruding. Objects are fired in a variety of kilns, including high-fire reduction in a gas kiln and wood kiln, electric and Raku. Their new studio offers private and group instruction, as well as a paintyour-own-pottery section and tile mosaics.
