For a fun art experience in a lovely setting, take an autumnal drive to Garrett County to visit the studios of Alan and Sue Arnson. 30 minutes from Cumberland, through rural Maryland, the Arnson’s studios are located on 30 acres of Bittinger.

The rustic barn, which houses Alan’s woodshop, dates to the late 1800s. He will be demonstrating how he makes turned bowls, log boxes, and more. Sue’s studio is in a charming little building which houses her workspace and a small gallery. She too will be showing her visitors how watercolors, collage, and monoprints are made.

The sprawling lawn leads to a pretty pond where you can see blue gills and bass. You are welcome to stroll this unique setting as well as see how art is made. A visit to the Arnson’s is a truly unique experience.
